How did your course go?

Glenn attended Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera where he gained nine GCSE’s and a City & Guilds E-Qualification in IT through Neath ITEC. Glenn’s a keen sportsman and plays rugby for his local team and has captained them for two years. Glenn is also currently playing cricket for Bristol which he is very proud of. Due to his sporting activities Glenn has learnt excellent team skills which he is keen to use in the training centre and work place.

Glenn is a quick learner and worked through his NVQ at a fast pace. After approximately four weeks Glenn started work experience with the British Red Cross, where he was placed in the administration department. He took on challenges and met targets whenever they were set, and used his own initiative to develop new posters for a campaign the British Red Cross were running at the time. He fitted in well with the team and had excellent feedback from his supervisor Clare Taplin.

Since his work placement Glenn has been volunteering at the British Red Cross in his spare time, and is receiving excellent feedback from his supervisor.

“It was always a pleasure to work with Glenn; he showed enthusiasm, politeness, confidence and was positive whenever he was given a task. Glenn took to work experience with a great attitude that can be an inspiration to others, it’s a shame the British Red Cross couldn’t employ him, he would have been a great asset to their admin department”.
